Trudeau foundation doctoral scholarship
Introduction: Each year, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation via the Trudeau foundation doctoral scholarship rewards outstanding doctoral candidates who are enrolled or about to be enrolled in a social sciences and humanities program.
The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship Program help shape researchers into engaged leaders who are conscious of the impact of their research. The researchers are connected to the realities of the communities and open to non-conventional forms of knowledge.
The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation seeks applicants who are audacious, original, and forward-thinking.
Duration of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship: three years and with generous support for Scholars’ doctoral work. Stipend and research and travel allowance are also available.
Scholars will receive mandatory leadership training in the first year from the Foundation’s Mentors and Fellows. The Mentors are leaders from across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. The fellows are leaders in research and teaching. The program is scheduled for different provinces, territories, and foreign countries.
The Scholars will work with Mentors and Fellows to collaboratively plan and participate in a public conference in the second year.
Dedication to knowledge dissemination is the main component of the third and the fourth year of the doctoral program. This year is also engross with close mentorship by the Mentors and Fellows. The Program is a great opportunity to innovate and experiment in order to share knowledge and skills gained.

Leadership training from Mentors and Fellows
$40,000 per year for three years to cover tuition and reasonable living expenses
Up to $20,000 per year for three years, as a research and travel allowance
Trudeau Foundation Scholarships Deadline: December/ January
If you are chosen you must:
- Attend a community retreat
- Collaboratively plan and participate in conference event .
- Work with other Scholars, Mentors, and Fellows.
- Work towards fluency in English and French
- Submit one research progress report per year.
